Collinite User Provides “Shining” Recommendation
Some companies allocate a huge portion of their budget for paid endorsements. Others hire pitchmen to aggressively hawk their product lines. At Collinite, we could try all day and night to tell you why we believe we’re the best, but we’d rather let our customers do the talking. And that’s exactly what boating enthusiast Richard Finzer did in the September/October issue of Living Aboard. Unsolicited, Richard took it upon himself to let readers of Living Aboard’s “What Works” in on his little secret-Collinite marine products.
“I know-this piece reads like an advertisement,” admitted Finzer. It isn’t.”
A 15 year Collinite user, Finzer described his experiences with the #920 boat cleaner and #925 wax in the article “Shine On”, citing among other things, how Collinite “beads water like crazy, and offers superior UV protection.” Spoken like a true marine buff, Richard was straightforward and to the point. “This section of the magazine is named “What Works” right? Well, this stuff works.”
Richard, we couldn’t have said it better.

As many loyal Collinite users know, the 845 Insulator Wax is the favorite when it comes to protecting paint finishes on cars, boats, and recreational vehicles. But what may come as a suprise to some is the fact that Collinite's overall #1 seller for two decades was rated among the top of the class in a product test under a whole new category: The 'Clear-Vinyl Panel Restorer and Protector' Test which was judged based on ease of use, price point, length of protection, cleaning properties, scratch removal and shine. In other words, what's the best product to use on the clear plastic windows of your boat? The test was conducted by Practical Sailor Magazine (link to www.practical-sailor.com) which runs some of the most thorough tests in the marine industry. This test was no different, as it took 5 pages to fully disclose all information pertaining 27 products’ highlights and pitfalls.
Collinite 845 Insulator Wax rated 'EXCELLENT' as a UV Protectant and Polish and was deemed as a 'BUDGET BUY' for the test. Now there is another great use for the outstanding Collinite ‘utility’ product. Nicely done 845 Insulator Wax!

Collinite's #870, #1 in Practical Sailor Magazine,
Powerboat Reports
Typically when a boater subtly hints that they would like to spend a little less time waxing their hull and a little more time with their boat in the water, Collinite recommends the use of its #870 cleaner wax, a “killing two birds with one stone” process that often saves time and energy. In other words, a shortcut to get your boat in the water for a short season by doing two jobs in one.
In the March 2007 issues of Practical Sailor magazine and Powerboat Reports, Collinite's #870 proved why it has been so highly recommended by professionals everywhere. In “To Shine and Protect” the #870 took the publications' top honors as “Best Choice” among a list of 11 of its cleaner/wax peers.
Drawing on Practical Sailor's / Powerboat Reports' categories of Application, Cleaning ability, Initial Gloss, 3 Month Gloss, and 3 Month Water Bead, Collinite's #870 distanced itself from the competition and was named the overall winner for “Best Choice”. The article's “Bottom Line” subheading offered additional accolades that attested to the #870's quality and durability. “This was the only one-step tested that was unanimously rated the best initial finish. It also seemed to take less effort to achieve that gloss. And the shine has held up well after three months.”
Citing another recent test, the articles also made mention of Collinite's #885 Fleetwax paste as its “top pick” for a pure wax. |
