Used for first time last weekend. I thought it was very easy to remove as I applied it thinly on my new truck. Very glossy deep finish and paint very slick. It rained today and water was beading like crazy. This is my new go to wax

I have used super double coat for ever and it is by far the best wax on the market. BAR NONE!!!! I have introduced it to members of my family and they are now using it. Living in western N.Y. it also is a great winter wax.I just bought your detailer and cannot wait to try it.

  3. Butch Berden

Definitely happy with its result…I’ve tried almost branded wax in the market but 476s is pretty awesome honestly

  4. ELLIOTT S

I’ve used Collinite 476 for year and year, initially attracted by its recorded durability. I’m based in the UK so having protection from the rain is important to keep my cars looking good. I’d recommend 476 to anyone – and indeed have to many in the past.

  5. Eric Hoffman

I have been using 476 wax for over 20 years and would not put anything else on my vehicles. The protection through the winter month is unbeatable. The look after waxing is unbeatable. The best!

  6. Russell DeJulio

I have been using this wax on my 2006 Porsche 911 coupe since I acquired it in 2007 . Previous to that I was a BMW car owner and for 30 years . I have tried EVERY wax that you can name and IMO NOTHING I have used offers the protection of this paste wax ! I highly recommend it to my fellow gear heads ! Nice work Collinite !!

  7. Paul Mysliborski

All of these coatings, Si02, graphenes, blah blah blah….
476 kicks all of them in the a$$ IMO.

I will NEVER use anything else on my vehicles ever again.

I love the fact that on their own website, Collinite tells you about the potential “hard buffing”. But I know for a fact (as a long-time user) that they are just covering their butts for old “No directions read Johnny” who slaps it on.

The directions say “THIN coat”. Why do you think they put T-H-I-N in all Caps???

    Hmmmm…… Maybe they know something??

Applied THIN……. 476 is a breeze to use, and lasts an entire Northeast winter and then some.

Don’t believe me? Try it, and prove me wrong………..

I’ve bought this because of my curiousity to the durability. Used the 915 for years (and I still do) I have to say that 915 is easier to apply than this, but my.. what a protection 🙂 Also love this in the winter, in Holland it can be very rainy… Nice and pretty shine. But I find this rather more suitable for people with more wax experience. Beginner? Use the 845 or 915. Apply the 915 very thin and threat it panel by panel. Let it dry max. couple of minutes. You won’t be disappointed. Collinite IS a quality brand 🙂

I have been using Collinite since being introduced to the product from my grandfather. Now being middle age I am paying it forward to my college age kids! Upon completion of a waxing party with my girls they now see what I have been preaching for all these years. Thanks for the FAQs and informative web site.

Try and find a wax that will survive a salty NY winter, you won’t….trust me. It took me 20 years as a detailer to discover Collinite, all living within a 30 minute drive of headquarters on Lincoln Ave. My previous “go to” was Mothers California Gold, but for the last 15 years I’ve never looked back once I stepped to 476s. It’s an amazing wax, unbelievable even. Sure, there’s Ceramic coating, but for 25 bucks, and a twice a year wax regime, you’ll save THOUSANDS of dollars. Crazy how far a 9oz tin will last. Can get MULTIPLE coats, on a truck no less, by applying a very thin coat, which is all you need. Tape off the black plastics because it’s very hard to get this off, which is why it lasts so long atop clearcoat.
Also use the marine wax and WOW…. Don’t step anywhere on my boat that’s been waxed, you’ll be “man overboard” instantly. 🤣 It stays slick for MONTHS. I’ve waxed my 19ft boat inside and out twice over and maybe used 1oz of product, that’s freaking crazy.
Collinite is pirate approved….. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! ☠️

The best car wax I have ever used and I’ve used quite a few of the big brands. Collinite is quite difficult to get in Ireland but I’m so glad I got it. I like that it’s a paste so it’s neat and easy to use at the correct quantity with an applicator pad. It takes a bit of effort to remove but the finish is worth it and I found a second coat left a mirror like shine. Very impressed. Also works brilliantly on piano black trim.

Background below, but for this specific product: No476s Super Doublecoat – Well, we’re approaching that time of year again with snow, ice, and salt. Time to break out the strongest available, to get us through these upcoming vehicle-hating months. Super Doublecoat is my go-to that I’ll be applying to all 3 vehicles in the next week or two. Always using the prewax first – be sure to use both.

A few things to consider: 1) I live in Upstate NY 2) I have tried pretty much every ‘over-hyped and over-marketed’ vehicle product out there. From Chemical Guys to Mothers to Meguiar’s to Turtle Wax. 3) All of my vehicles are black: Lexus IS250, Lexus GX460, Jeep Gladiator.

I wish I had started using Collinite products earlier as the quality is unsurpassed at every level and for everyone of their product offerings. Their products feel different, smell different (better) and last longer; especially critical where I live. Waxes are easier to apply and remove and the instructions are detailed. Collinite has every aspect of your vehicle care covered…not to mention it’s born, bred, and thriving in the US.

  13. Nicholas Malnati

I used the local car wash today and used the manual pressure wash. It still needed a very thorough clay bar. I used a cleaner wax and after a collinite and liked it a lot. Excellent shine and easy to apply.

  14. Lloyd Martin

I’ve been detailing cars for 35 years and have tried most of the so called polishes that claim to give you that longevity of protection. Once I tried collinite 476 double coat I was immediately impressed with the ease of use in application after following the instructions. The resulting finish after buffing off was remarkable but the real trump card in this polishes already glowing arsenal is the actual durability. No other polish have I used that lasts as long 6 months minimum and water is still beading off like the day you applied it. Amazing product.

I’ve been detailing my personal vehicles for well over 35 years. Back then, “Rain Dance” was all the rage. I, like many others, have tried every new and improved product to hit the market but I have found many of those lacking, and not living up to their hype. I don’t know why it took me so long to find or try Collinite products, but they are the real deal! The 845S is some of the easiest wax I’ve ever used. It’s easy to apply, remove and leave a super sleek, shiny finish. The 476s is not as easy to apply or remove as the 845S, but it’s still not difficult if you follow the directions. The key is to apply a thin coat with both products, do one section at a time and let it haze/cure without letting it sit on the vehicle while you continue to apply the wax over the remaining portions. Both products do a phenomenal job with the easiest of the two being the 845S. But the longevity rest with the 476S. Outstanding products, a customer of life.

Very fun to use. Buttery going on, extremely smooth buffing off. I just finished a pewter Merc with this and really enjoyed all of it. I always wax by hand so this was no one off for me either. I dont leave reviews much but felt I had to with how impressed I am with 476s. Great forumla, Collinite!

FAQ's

No. 476s

No S-845 Speed Wax is designed to maintain and enhance an existing coat of any Collinite Sealant Wax (845, 915, 476s). While it does not replace the durable base coat durability found in one of our waxes, it does offer its own stand alone protection of up to 2 months. It can be used as often as desired to boost beading and provide a slick showroom gloss.

While 476s is a traditional hard paste, it can be easily applied and removed. We recommend applying a thin layer to a small section (2 x 2 feet), and remove the wax once it comes to a haze. Typically, this takes anywhere from 1-3 minutes.

476s contains the highest concentration of polymer protection to withstand the harshest elements for the longest period of time. For this reason, we recommend 476s as a protective coating prior to the winter months.
